Are you hiking rim to rim and need to get your luggage to the other side of the canyon? We offer luggage service from both sides of the Grand Canyon with drop-off and pick-up locations at the following lodges:


  • Bright Angel Lodge located in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park
  • Kaibab Lodge located outside the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park

Bags can be dropped off and picked up at Bright Angel Lodge on the SOUTH Rim and Kaibab Lodge on the North Rim. Passengers are responsible for getting their own bags AT THESE LOCATIONS.

 A reservation is required for unaccompanied bag transportation. It is best to make your reservation as far out in advance as possible as Trans-Canyon has a limited amount of space available for luggage transport. 


After making your reservation and arriving at the Grand Canyon, obtain a TransCanyon BAG TAG at your drop-off point:

  • Kaibab Lodge front desk (North Rim)
  • Front desk (or bellman) at Bright Angel Lodge (South Rim)

If your bag is making a round trip, you need to obtain a new color-coded tag. The tag colors and information you write on the luggage tag indicate where your luggage will be dropped off.


When filling out your luggage tag, please be aware of the following: 

  • The name on the tag MUST MATCH the name used for the reservation. 
  • Your reservation number needs to be included on the luggage tag.
  • The luggage weight limit on bags is 22 pounds. A scale will be provided at the drop-off location so you can ensure a proper weight. 


Please be advised that the Trans-Canyon luggage handler will weigh your bag before it is loaded. Luggage will be priced and charged according to weight:


Bags over 22 up to 40 pounds will be charged an additional bag fee. Bags over 40 pounds will not be transported.


Bags must be dropped off at either Kaibab Lodge or Bright Angel Lodge before 10 AM the day of transport. If the bag is dropped off late, it will not be transported. Bags will be held for one day after delivery. Beyond that, arrangements need to be made.


When picking-up your bags from these locations, be sure to notify your driver to stop at either the Bright Angel Lodge or Kaibab Lodge to pick up your unaccompanied luggage.

Trans-Canyon Shuttle Cancellation & Credit Policy

Reservation Changes and Cancellation by Customer

  1. Advance Cancellations:
  2. If a customer cancels a shuttle reservation more than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time, they may be eligible for a credit toward a future Trans-Canyon Shuttle service, less any non-refundable booking or service fees.
  3. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled departure are not eligible for a credit unless the cancellation falls under Section 3 (Operator Cancellation/Service Interruption).
  4. How to Cancel or Change a Booking:
  5. All cancellations or modification requests must be submitted via email to info@trans-canyonshuttle.com or by calling 928-638-2820 during business hours.

No Cash Refund

  1. Cash Refunds:
  2. Trans-Canyon Shuttle does not issue cash or credit-card refunds for cancellations initiated by the customer, except as provided under Section 3 (Operator Cancellation/Service Interruption). All eligible amounts will be issued as a credit that can be applied only toward a future Trans-Canyon Shuttle reservation.
  3. Credit Terms:
  4. Credits will be valid for 18 months from the original booking date and may be used toward any comparable Trans-Canyon Shuttle service subject to availability.

Cancellations by Trans-Canyon Shuttle (Operator)

Trans-Canyon Shuttle reserves the right to delay or cancel service when, in the sole judgement of management, it is necessary due to unsafe conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Inclement weather (snow, ice, heavy rain, flash floods, extreme winds)
  • Road closures, hazardous road conditions, or park closures
  • Mechanical issues, safety concerns, or other unforeseen events beyond our control

In the event Trans-Canyon cancels service for any reason (including weather or safety reasons):

  1. Customers will be offered a service credit equal to the value of the unused portion of the booking, which may be applied toward a future reservation.
  2. No cash refunds will be issued if a customer chooses not to travel, unless required by applicable law or regulatory authority.

Force Majeure/Unforeseen Events

  • Trans-Canyon Shuttle shall not be liable for any failure to perform its service obligations where such failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, severe weather, natural disasters, government actions, road closures, or other force majeure events.
  • In such cases, customers will be offered a credit for future travel rather than a cash refund.

Consumer Law & Fair Dealing

  • This policy is intended to be consistent with Arizona consumer protection principles. Under the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, A.R.S. 44-1521 et se., businesses must avoid deceptive or unfair practices in advertising and executing their service and cancellation terms.
  • Please note: Arizona state law does not generally prescribe specific refund policies for private transportation services, but any terms offered to customers must be clearly disclosed at the time of booking and honored as stated.

Policy Disclosure & Agreement

  • By making a reservation with Trans-Canyon Shuttle, customers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted this Cancellation & Credit Policy.
  • This policy may be updated from item to time at the discretion of Trans-Canyon Shuttle. Current terms will be posted on our website and apply at all bookings.

Please be aware that the Bright Angel Lodge luggage staff is available from 7 AM until 7 PM each day. Luggage dropped off or picked up outside of these hours is not guaranteed by the Bright Angel Lodge.
